Join Our Troop
We encourage you to visit our Troop at one of our regular, weekly Monday night meetings. See our calendar for the next meeting date. Your scout should feel comfortable with the Troop he selects and that often means visiting more than one Troop to find the right fit. Contact us to let us know you are coming.
We look forward to you joining us at Troop 451!
How do I officially join Troop 848?
Once you have decided to join us, we can provide you a copy of the BSA application form and collect your registration fees at a regular troop meeting. One of our adult leaders will be happy to provide the registration forms and fees and answer any questions. If your scout will be transferring from another troop, please let us know and we will ensure records and any funds are transferred.
Scout Registration includes:
- Completed Scouts BSA Youth application
- Completed Scouts BSA Medical Forms A & B
- Front and back copy of medical insurance card
- A completed Scouts BSA Adult application for at least one parent/guardian
- BSA ID if already registered with Scouts BSA
- Payment for any council or troop dues or fees
Adult Registration includes:
- Completed Scouts BSA Adult application
- Completed Scouts BSA Medical Forms A & B
- Front and back copy of medical insurance card
- A valid certificate of completion for Youth Protection Training
- Payment for any council or troop dues or fees
Other Costs and Fees:
Our monthly campouts, summer camp and some activities require varying payments to cover activity costs.
While the troop does have some gear and used uniforms that can be borrowed, a Scout will need to purchase personal camping gear, uniform and handbook. We do not want cost to be a barrier to Scouting so please speak with our Committee Chair if costs are an issue. Details about costs will be covered in the New Parent Meeting.
