A backpack\, packed as best you can ( remember\, it doesn’t have to be a hiking specific backpack )\n2. Sleeping bag\, sleeping pad\, ( and pillow if desired )\n3. 1 change of clothes\n4. 2x water bottles ( preferably around 1 liter each )\n5. a 1 or 2-person tent if you have one.  We will identify tent partners so gear can be divided and weight shared.\n6. a Flashlight\n7. the shoes you’re planning to wear\n\nWe will go over all the details tomorrow!  See you there!

DESCRIPTION:Contact: Phillip Pratt\, ASM (verbeek98@msn.com or 214-493-3397-)\n\nThursday\, October 26\n7:00 PM\nSoul Cafe – First United Methodist \nThis will be our first official meeting with regards to the 2025 Philmont trek.  We have been awarded our date:  July 10-July 22\, 2025 \nWe will be discussing initial cost\, scheduling\, transportation logistics\, fundraising\, recruitment\, teambuilding and gear shakedowns\, etc.   There is obviously a lot of information to go over but this meeting will focus on some time sensitive items that need to be addressed. \nIf there are any questions that need to be addressed beforehand\, please feel free to reach out.  18 months away seems like an eternity but it will be here before we know it.

Join us at the SR2 Blacksmith Shop for Metalworking MB Workshop! \n  \nOur local SR2 Blacksmith Kevin\, will teach Scouts working on the Metalwork merit badge how to safely work with a variety of types of metal. Scouts will explore different types of metalwork and the various career opportunities for people who enjoy working metal. \nClass is at SR2 – Camp 9 Blacksmith Shop. Starts at 9AM sharp. Class ends at 4PM. Saturday September 30th 2023 & Saturday October 21st 2023. No meals will be provided. \nLeader in charge will need to have Medical Form Parts A&B on hand. \nPlan to bring a printed Metalwork MB worksheet\, water bottle\, lunch\, shirt/pants (all natural fibers) and closed toe shoes. \nPlease no field uniforms in the shop\, it is not made of appropriate materials. \nClass will be rescheduled if less than 5 register. \nWeekend camping must be booked separately. \nSee you at SR2!
